MEET LAUREN
Choosing the right Medicare plan can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Unlike many insurance agents, I bring over 15 years of experience across the entire healthcare continuum—spanning hospitals, clinics, telemedicine, and care navigation. My background gives me a deep understanding of how healthcare truly works, allowing me to guide you toward coverage that supports your health and financial needs.
I hold a graduate degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington and have spent my career advocating for patients to receive the best possible care—both in sickness and in health. I see Medicare not just as an insurance decision, but as a key part of aging well, and I’m here to simplify the process so you can make confident, informed choices.

Medicare Open Enrollment: What to Consider Before You Make a Change
Each fall, Medicare Open Enrollment gives you the chance to review your coverage and make changes for the coming year. From October 15 through December 7, you can switch Medicare Advantage plans, move between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage, or change your prescription drug plan (Part D).
Even if you’re happy with your current coverage, it’s worth taking a few minutes to review your options. Plans change every year - premiums, provider networks, and prescription coverage/formularies can all shift. A little review now can save you money and ensure you’re covered the way you need in the coming year.
Here are a few key items to consider this Open Enrollment season:
1. Review Your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC)
Each fall, your plan sends you an Annual Notice of Change. This document outlines updates to premiums, copays, and coverage for the next year. Compare the 2026 changes to how you’ve used your plan in 2025. Even small adjustments can add up, especially when it comes to prescription costs or specialist visits.
2. Check Your Prescription Drug Coverage
Formularies (the list of covered drugs) change every year. Confirm that your medications are still covered and note any changes to drug tiers or preferred pharmacies. A quick check here can prevent surprises at the pharmacy counter in January.
3. Confirm Your Providers Are Still In-Network
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, double-check that your preferred doctors, hospitals, and specialists will remain in-network for 2026. Out-of-network care can be more expensive, or not covered at all.
4. Look at Total Costs, Not Just Premiums
A low monthly premium doesn’t always mean a better deal. Review out-of-pocket maximums, copays for office visits, and costs for the services you use most often. It’s important to think about your overall healthcare spending, not just your monthly payment.
5. Consider Your Health Needs for the Year Ahead
Has your health changed over the past year? Do you anticipate new treatments or medications? Choosing a plan that fits your current and upcoming needs can help avoid coverage gaps or unexpected costs.
6. Take Advantage of Expert Help
Navigating Medicare options can be confusing - but you don’t have to do it alone. Working with a licensed Medicare agent can help you compare plans in your area, understand your coverage options, and find the best fit for your budget and healthcare needs.
